Watching his maternal grandfather’s stable pension from Schlumberger and Getty Oil, and his paternal grandfather’s wealth from owning Class A apartments and developing subdivisions, taught Jared valuable lessons about building sustainable wealth.

Just out of college, Jared obtained a license as a financial services professional and was mentored by the head of the financial planning program at Georgia State University, who later became a top professor in the field at Texas Tech University. He was fascinated by the pension-type products that helped his engineer grandfather maintain a high income in retirement, one that he never outlived, and left a substantial financial legacy to his children upon his passing at 86.

With great interest in also following his paternal grandfather’s proven path, Jared built an extensive real estate portfolio that included apartments, buy-and-hold single-family homes, flips, and short-term rentals, and achieved significant success in residential land development. Throughout his career, he has guided clients nationwide in owning real estate portfolios that produce consistent cash flow and generate major profit events to fund tax-free growth vehicles, providing tax-advantaged retirement income streams and supporting the rapid growth of income-producing properties, while making them safer and more secure. As his tenants paid off properties for him and his clients, they also built a second, often six-figure tax-free retirement income stream.

The real estate strategy generated substantial long-term wealth, as property values quadrupled over a 25-year period. However, owning up to 200 properties at one time also meant that real estate could be highly cash-intensive. Furnaces quit, roofs and water heaters needed replacement, tenants moved out, and there were times when he or his clients had to cover these mortgages during vacancy periods.

Jared and his wife Diane are the parents of five children. He is an avid reader, history buff, world traveler, and enjoys serving in his church and community. He loves SEC football, the Atlanta Braves, and traveling the country in search of the best barbecue.

Since graduating from North Georgia University, Jared Garfield has been in financial services and real estate investment since his mid-20s.
